As part of some research on our product we looked at the following clips

We were looking about something to do with stalkers and we found a nice following shot through some bars that we liked at 0:56
We also liked the idea of the cheese wire instead of conventional knife

We watched this video as it has a few of the aspects we are using in our clip

The first generic convention that is used in the clip from Face Off is a twist, this is when you expect the assassin to kill the man but when the child is shot you feel shocked that he got hit. The music is very eerie and it makes the clip seem like it is a memory. It then changes to softer and more peaceful music and it emphasises the dramatic sounds so that you can see the importance of them. This music changes according to the characters state of mind and what they are doing at that time. You see an extreme close up of the assassins finger on the trigger and when the bullet leaves the gun, this adds emphasis to the action of what is happening.

The generic  thriller conventions used in 'Faceoff' like obsessiveness from the main character to find the killer of his child wont stop till he is found, we know this as he is a detective trying to find him years later. The clip also includes erie music when killer is preparing to shoot his target with dramatic sounds like him moving the gun cover and his drinking his drink. We see a extreme close up on the gun and the bullet as it leaves the gun and hits the target this gives more emphasis on the baby being shot.
